Jewellery Care

  • Avoid Harsh Chemicals

Sea glass and metal components can react to chemicals found in everyday products like suncream, perfumes, hand cream, chlorine, and household cleaners. Put on your jewellery after applying any cosmetic or skincare products and avoid exposing it to harsh chemicals.

  • Keep Away from Water

While sea glass originates from the sea, prolonged exposure to water (especially chlorinated or saltwater) can weaken metal settings and dull its natural beauty. Remove jewellery before swimming, bathing, or showering.

  • Store Properly

To prevent scratches and tarnishing, store your jewellery in a soft pouch or a jewellery box lined with fabric after giving it a quick wipe with a polishing cloth. Keeping pieces separate will help avoid tangling and damage.

  • Clean Regularly

Dirt, skin oils and environmental particles can build up quickly, especially if you wear your jewellery daily. Use a soft, lint-free cloth to wipe your jewellery after wear. For seaglass jewellery, if you want to maintain the natural frosted appearance of the glass, gently clean with mild soap and warm water and dry thoroughly. If you'd prefer the sea glass to appear glossy, rub a small amount of baby oil over the glass when needed.

  • Avoid Impact & Rough Surfaces

Although seaglass is naturally weathered by the sea, it can still chip or crack if dropped or knocked against hard surfaces. Handle your jewellery with care to maintain its shape and finish.

  • Polish Metal Components

Jewellery made using 925 sterling silver and fine silver is naturally susceptible to tarnish due to exposure to air, moisture and sulphur. While tarnish does not harm the metal, it can dull the appearance and require more intensive cleaning if left too long. Build regular cleaning with a polishing cloth into your routine to keep your silver shining. When storing, if possible use airtight containers and anti-tarnish strips.
